Our Story.
Established in 2006, Cobbles and Clay is a cafe and pottery painting studio at the top of Haworth Main street in the heart of Yorkshire’s Bronte country; founded by owner, Jill Ross. Jill was born and raised in Yorkshire and whilst raising her own family here, decided to bring her passion for artwork and good food together to create Haworth’s creative cafe, Cobbles and Clay.
The business first opened in a smaller premises a few doors down, offering a limited menu of soup or a sandwich and a small collection of pottery. With a team of just three staff members, serving ten tables of hungry customers, the cafe grew busier by the day. After expanding both the upstairs and outside areas, it became clear a bigger premises would be needed to enable us to offer a wider food and pottery selection and to keep up with customer demand.
In 2014, we decided to take the leap and upsize to a double cottage building up the road, taking on a huge renovation project that would take just under a year to be lovingly restored. Now, six years later, we are a dedicated team of 30 serving a cafe that seats just under 100 guests. Our extensive menu now focuses on offering fresh, healthy, and modern dishes, with a wide selection of gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options. Our large selection of cakes and drinks means there’s something for everyone!
We are open all day every day, with booking recommended. With free wifi, baby changing facilities, and great coffee, our cafe is the perfect setting for a family day out or catch up with friends.
We look forward to seeing you,
The Team at Cobbles.
